Dying for Sleep
It happens to all of us. Those nights where no matter what you do, sleep is an elusive dream. I have often said I wish there was a switch that we could just turn off at night so we could get the sleep we need.
With all the talk about worker productivity and presenteeism – being at work but not functioning at full capacity – (Is that a myth? Does anyone function at full capacity?), the focus is usually on chronic illnesses. The lack of sleep, however, has a major impact on how efficiently we work, and can even be life threatening.
